A good friend who works as a consultant for Vietnam Airlines in
Da Nang, Vietnam Sent me a note today. Perhaps to check whether I made it to my birthday. Thanks, Dick.

Years ago when I lived in Germany, English speaking aircraft mechanics and airline employees had certain terminologies that are familiar within the aviation community. The German term for things not going perfectly well is, "abgefuktert". This term was used regularly by Templehof Airlines English speaking employees to describe the daily status. I can attest that I had heard that term used over the years.

Today, while going through Vietnamese aircraft records he found a new, perfectly apt descriptive term for a specific type of failure. "Fuctured" which needs no explanation.

I think I will adopt "fuctured" into my analysis of root causes.

Be safe my friend.
